The Shire and Surroundings - First Version

This map represents the Shire, the country where the Hobbits lived, directly inspired by the drafts of J.R.R. Tolkien.
The final version, presented in first book of "the Lord of the Rings", the "Fellowship of the Ring", was drawn by Tolkien's son, Christopher. 
The interest of this map is to present the topography of the surroundings of the Shire, not well known. 

The main difference between this Fisrt map and the Second one I drew is the path of the river Brandywine in the south of the Shire : Tolkien hesitated between two very different versions. The second version is presented here : airyyn.deviantart.com/art/The-…
